Aarogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in our combined fight against COVID-19. The App is aimed at augmenting the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19.

Digital content has increased as more households have accessed the Internet. Increased access has made it easier for people to receive their news and watch TV online, challenging the popularity of traditional platforms. Increased access to the Internet has also led to the mass publication of digital content through individuals in the form of eBooks, blog posts, and even Facebook posts.

Video – Types of video content include home videos, music videos, TV shows, and movies. Many of these can be viewed on websites such as YouTube, Hulu, CBS, and so on, in which people and companies alike can post content. However, many movies and television shows are not available for free legally, but rather can be purchased from sites such as iTunes and Amazon.

Audio – Music is the most common form of audio. Spotify has emerged as a popular way for people to listen to music either over the Internet or from their computer desktop. Digital content in the form of music is also available through Pandora and last.fm, both of which allow listeners to listen to music online for no charge.

Images – Photo and image sharing is another example of digital content. Popular sites used for this type of digital content includes Imgur, where people share self-created pictures, Flickr, where people share their photo albums, and DeviantArt, where people share their artwork. Popular apps that are used for images include Instagram and Snapchat.

Visual Stories - Stories are a new type of digital content that got introduced by Snapchat. Since then, stories as a format has been introduced in a couple of other platforms such as Facebook and Linkedin. In 2018, Google introduced their AMP Stories, which provides content publishers with a mobile-focused format for delivering news and information as visually rich, tap-through stories.

Multilingual : In order to ensure the Aadhaar Services are accessible to linguistically diverse residents of India, the menu, button labels and form fields are provided in English as well as in 12 Indian languages (Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannad, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). After installation, the user will be prompted to select any of the preferred languages. However, the input fields in the forms will accept data entered in the English language only. This is done to help the user avoid facing the challenges of typing in regional languages (due to limitations in the mobile keyboards).

Universality: Resident with or without Aadhaar can install this App in their smart phones. However to avail personalized Aadhaar services the resident will have to register their Aadhaar Profile in the App.

Aadhaar Locking – Aadhaar holder can lock their UID/Aadhaar number anytime they wish.

Biometric locking/unlocking secures biometric authentication by locking biometrics data. Once resident enables Biometric Locking system their biometric remains locked till the Aadhaar Holder chose to either unlock it (which is temporary) or Disable the Locking system.

TOTP generation – Time-based One-Time Password is an automatically generated temporary password that can be used instead of SMS based OTP.

Update of profile – To updated view of Aadhaar profile data after successful completion of update request.

 Sharing of QR code and eKYC data by Aadhaar Number holder helps Aadhaar users share their password-protected eKYC or QR code for safe and paperless verification.

Multi-profile: Aadhaar holder can include multiple (up to 3) profiles (with the same registered mobile number) in their profile section.

Aadhaar Services on SMS ensures Aadhaar holder avail Aadhaar services even when there is no network.

A mobile app with highly user friendly approach encapsulating scientific process of School Mapping using Geo-Informatics.
Samagra Shiksha, Gujarat with support of BISAG, executed the initiative of school mapping and made it more standardized, transparent, participatory, low cost, interoperable, technologically reachable and easy to access with best results.

The information is presented on a map with options to select different base maps (like roads). Zooming in on the map highlights the schools in visible locations which are marked by small icons. Schools are also linked to a report contains useful information like the equipment and facilities, type of school, year of establishment and recognition as well as a rating.

The website also has a search functionality, but it failed to return any results when we searched for schools. Overall the platform is pretty useable, but slow. It would help to have a usable search function as the sheer number of schools in an area can make it hard to find a specific school. Note that for some reason the platform only worked for us in Firefox and not Chrome.

Citizens can also upload scanned copies of their legacy documents in their accounts. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using the eSign facility.

Citizens can access their digital documents anytime, anywhere and share it online. This is convenient and time saving.

It reduces the administrative overhead of Government departments by minimizing the use of paper.

Digital Locker makes it easier to validate the authenticity of documents as they are issued directly by the registered issuers.

Self-uploaded documents can be digitally signed using the eSign facility (which is similar to the process of self-attestation).

DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents and certificates in a digital format, thereby eliminating the use of physical documents. Indian citizens who sign up for a DigiLocker account get a dedicated cloud storage space that is linked to their Aadhaar or UIDAI number.

What is the sign-up and sign-in procedure for DigiLocker? Can I link my Google or Facebook to DigiLocker?

A) While signing up for a DigiLocker account, it is mandatory for a user to have an Aadhaar (UIDAI) number. A one-time password or OTP is sent to the users Aadhaar-linked mobile number, which they need to sign-up.

For log-ins thereafter, a user can set a password of their choice, or link the account to their Facebook or Google logins. The choice of linking DigiLocker with Google or Facebook is given to every user, and is left to their discretion. It is not necessary to link them.

How To Upload Document In Digilocker App: 

you can upload documents from inside your ‘Uploaded Documents’ section.

Click the upload icon to start uploading a document. In the file upload dialog box, locate the file from your local drive and select 'open' to complete the uploading.

To assign a document type to your uploaded file, click 'select doc type'. This will show a pop up with a drop down selection of various document types. Choose the appropriate document type and click 'save'.

You can also edit the name of the file using the edit icon next to the filename.

Step 1- Document Upload Screen

All the given activities will be performed only in the document upload window.

After signing up, click on “Uploaded Documents”.

Click on the “Upload” mentioned on the screen as shown in the picture.

You can upload more than one documents at a time.

Step 2- Document Upload Screen

These steps will also be performed in the document upload screen.

Click on the “Upload” tab.

Here you have to choose the location and select the file (s) you want to upload.

Once you have selected the file(s), click on “Open” button.

Step 3- Select Document Type

This step is to set the type of document you have uploaded.

Click on “Select Document Type” for any of the document available in the uploaded documents list.

Here’s how you can carry all your car/bike-related documents using DigiLocker:

Open  https://digilocker.gov.in/ and sign up using your mobile number.

Create a username and password. Entering Aadhaar number is optional.

Use the OTP to verify your details.

After successful login, you would find all the documents issued.

Click on Issued documents to extract the copy of the driving license, registration papers and fitness certificate.

Next, click on ‘Check Partners Section’ and search for 'Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, All states'.

Now, in the 'Document Type' section choose between Driving Licence, Fitness Certificate, Vehicle Registrations or Vehicle Tax Receipt.
